Bali, October 28, 2017 – Sutowo Amateur Charity Golf Tournament is an annual charity event organized by Handara Golf & Resort Bali. It was another successful year with 148 golfers participating in this charity golf tournament. Handara Golf & Resort Bali has a long history in Indonesia as one of the first world-class golf clubs. And with the recent renovations and improvements, we are only getting better.
The rebranding efforts by the new management team have put us back into the limelight, especially with the success of many different tournaments. The event is held in the memory of our Founding Father, Mr. Ibnu Sutowo. When he established Handara in 1974, he had two missions: to spread his passion for Golf that was then relatively unknown in Indonesia and to reach out to the local community to help those in need. Four decades on we’d like to honor his memories and continue his Legacy.
The tournament has followed the standard rules with an added charity element. We hope to raise funds to support our charity efforts. Early in 2015, we have started a quarterly CSR programs with the help of many other organizations. We have given daily necessities, school supplies and baby goods to the people in the local community. The tournaments are expected to boost our CSR funds so we can expand the program to reach more people in need.
We have made it to IDR 16.450.000,- in total of donation support by auction some vouchers from sponsors and paintings from Abhy Nusa Fine Art in this event. All participants were so lucky to win the lucky draw which the prizes were Android Phone, tablet, dispenser, rice cooker, refrigerator, mountain bike and many other electronic stuff and Honda motorbike as the door prize. We also gave some vouchers from sponsor including hotels, villas and clinic and other pleasure activity for the lucky draw. Hole in One prize was the Mercedes Benz GLA 200 from our sponsor NV Mass Jakarta.
The Overall Best Nett was won by Gede Bayu with handicap 12, NET 68. The Overall Best Gross was won by Mandiyasa with handicap 4, Gross 75, count back 5.
